At 20:30, your adventure begins as an AsiaTourAdvisor’s guide warmly welcomes you to your hotel. You’ll be escorted to Hanoi Railway Station to catch the night train to Lao Cai. The train features cozy cabins, four berths, soft sleeper accommodations, and air-conditioning. Your arrival in Lao Cai is scheduled for 5:30 to 6:00 am, ensuring a restful overnight journey that takes approximately 8 hours.
Day 2: Lao Cai – Sapa – Ma Tra - Ta Phin Village▾
The train pulls into the station at around 6:00 am. Look for the distinctive “AsiaTourAdvisor’s Logo & Your Name” sign, guiding you to our waiting driver. After a swift transfer, you’ll find yourself in the former hill station of Sapa.
Following a delightful breakfast at a local restaurant, embark on a 30-minute drive to Tram Ton Pass, situated at an elevation of 2,100 meters. Revel in breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lush Hoang Lien National Park forests. A one-hour trek through the forest, along Golden Stream, leads to the tranquil Love Waterfall—a perfect spot to unwind.
Return to Tram Ton for a brief drive to Ban Khoan village. Descend on foot through a scenic valley, crossing a river, and ascend to the Red Dao minority village of Ban Khoan. Immerse yourself in their traditional life and daily activities.
After a flavorsome lunch, venture through corn farms and rainforests to reach Ta Phin village, home to the Red Dzao and Black Hmong tribes. Explore their homes, engage with the locals, and partake in their daily routines. Check into the homestay and treat yourself to a relaxing herbal bath.
Day 3: Ta Phin Village – Ta Seng Village – Mong Sen Village▾
Commence your day with breakfast in Taphin village, and then traverse untouched trails through the Red Dzao villages of Taxeng and Mongseng, approximately 10km from Taphin. Enjoy a rest by a picturesque jungle stream, followed by a walk through the stunning mountain landscape. By noon, reach Tacko, where a car will transfer you to Sapa for lunch. The afternoon is yours to explore the beautiful town at your leisure.
At 6:30 PM, our driver will escort you to Lao Cai train station for your night train back to Hanoi.
Day 4: Hanoi Arrival▾
Sapa is more than just stunning scenery and ethnic culture. It’s also a land of adventure, where visitors can trek through remote villages, hike through rugged mountain trails, and immerse themselves in the daily life of the local communities. Sapa is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts, with a range of activities on offer, from mountain biking and zip-lining to rock climbing.
When it comes to food, Sapa has a rich culinary tradition that draws from the local ingredients and ethnic flavors of the region. Visitors can sample local delicacies like “thang co”, a spicy stew made from horse meat, or “xoi”, a sticky rice dish topped with grilled meat or vegetables. And for those who prefer familiar tastes, there are plenty of international restaurants and cafes in town that offer a range of cuisines to suit all tastes.
